Story takes place after Turf Wars and ROTE.  

Asami is requested by Fire Lord Izumi to help modernize some of her nation's ageing infrastructure.  With everything peaceful in Republic City, Korra joins Asami on her trip.

While inspecting a condemned building, Korra and Asami discover a labyrinth of ancient tunnels beneath it.  

One of these tunnels leads them to an amazing discovery.  Something that 

An ancient city of the Fire Nation.  Said to have been built during the first year of the nation's existence.  

Believed to have been destroyed in a  great cataclysm long ago, It has now been found, deep underground.  Its ancient architecture somehow having survived the ravages of time.
